- Transactional data is information generated from business activities like sales, purchases, or payments. In my last project, each customer order captured details like order ID, product, quantity, price, and date. It’s time-stamped and used for reporting, trend analysis, and operational decisions. For example, we used transactional data to monitor daily sales and identify top-selling products. It differs from master data, which is static, like customer or product info. This data helps in audits, performance tracking, and forecasting. In dashboards, we pulled transactional data to create real-time sales charts. It’s always granular and event-focused.
