What is dashboard governance?

Dashboard governance is the process of controlling how dashboards are created, maintained, and accessed.
In my project, we defined clear ownership for each dashboard with a business owner and a technical owner.
We maintained documentation for KPIs, data sources, and calculation logic.
All changes were moved through Dev, UAT, and Production environments before release.
Access was managed using role-based security to protect sensitive data.
We followed naming conventions and version control to avoid duplication.
Regular data validation checks were performed to ensure accuracy.
Overall, governance ensures consistency, security, and trust in reporting.
