Some dashboards may contain sensitive information, so exporting data could lead to unauthorized sharing outside the system.
I also consider data misinterpretation, because users might modify the data in Excel and draw incorrect conclusions.
Another risk is loss of data context, such as filters, calculation logic, or KPI definitions that exist in the dashboard.
This can cause numbers in exported files to look different from the dashboard results.
In one reporting project, users exported data and changed formulas, which created confusion during reviews.
To manage this, we clarified the official source of truth and limited exports for sensitive fields.
