How do you choose the right chart for a business question?

I start by understanding what decision the stakeholder wants to make.
If they want to see trend over time, I use a line chart.
If they want category comparison, I use bar or column charts.
For part-to-whole analysis, I prefer stacked bar instead of pie for clarity.
For correlation between two metrics, I use a scatter plot.
In one project, to analyze sales decline, I used a line chart with month filter.
For top-performing products, I used a sorted bar chart.
I always prioritize clarity, simplicity, and quick insight over decorative visuals.
