What is slicer and how is it used?

A slicer is a visual filter that allows users to interactively filter data on a report page.
It provides a user-friendly way to filter by fields like date, region, or product.
Unlike page filters, slicers are visible and interactive.
In one project, I added a date slicer so users could view monthly or yearly sales instantly.
I also used region slicers for management to filter performance dashboards.
Slicers improve self-service analytics and user control.
They make dashboards dynamic without requiring backend changes.
Properly designed slicers enhance usability and reporting flexibility.
