What is drill-down and drill-through?

Drill-down is the ability to move from summarized data to more detailed data within the same report.
For example, clicking yearly sales to view quarterly or monthly sales.
I’ve used drill-down in Power BI to analyze revenue drops at a month or day level.
Drill-through allows navigation from one report page to another using selected data.
For example, clicking a product to open a detailed product performance page.
In one project, drill-through helped business users investigate low-performing customers.
Drill-down focuses on data hierarchy, while drill-through focuses on detailed context.
Both features improve self-service analysis for stakeholders.
