Data timeliness refers to how up-to-date the data is when it’s used for decision-making. In my role, I ensured dashboards were refreshed according to business needs, like daily sales updates. Delayed data sometimes caused mismatches in reports. The challenge was dependency on source system refresh schedules. I worked with data engineers to align refresh timings. In some cases, I used last-updated timestamps to show data freshness. When real-time data wasn’t possible, I set clear expectations with stakeholders. This helped avoid decisions based on outdated data.
